Born, "Ashur Israel Yosep Davida" in Baghdad Iraq

to an Assyrian Christian( 7% of Iraq's population ) Family.
I attended a Catholic Parochial Elementary School in
the Gailani district of Baghdad. I graduated from "Baghdad
College", a High School in Slaikh, in Suburban Baghdad,
under the direction of the Jesuits of the New England Province.

The name Davida ( prn. Daveeda ) originates in Urmia Iran,
where my Great Great Grandfather was buried on the grounds
of the Catholic Church, in the mid 1800's

Demonized by the Old testament in the person of Nebuchednesser,
The Assyrians were early Christian converts. A recent book on Christian
History entitled " Jesus in Beijing" finds that the Assyrians were the
earliest missionaries to bring Christianity to China in the Eighth Century.

Saint Paul's teachings identifying the Christians as the New Israelites
led to Liberal use of the name Israel among early Christians, a practice
that is still seen today.
